Today's Lesson: Understanding Blogs
Click "Read More" for today's notes.
When it comes to blog pages in Weebly, it is as simple as adding a single page. Only when you create your page, you will select "BLOG".
Once you have done this, you now have a page that will allow you to update it with new content without deleting the old content. It has the power to help keep your posts organized by topic if you choose to add categories to them, or at the very least, keep them in chronological order.
You can schedule posts as well. I you want to write a post today, but don't want it to post until tomorrow or another date, you can schedule it to post on that day.
Just like the website, you should have a predetermined purpose for your blog. For example, the purpose of the blog you are currently reading is to update students with the latest assignments so they not only know what is going on today, but they can scroll back to a day they missed and get their assignments there.
You will be creating a blog for your class. However, because your website only lets you create 5 total pages, you will first have to decide what page will be deleted. If you need to move content from the page you are about to delete to another page, do that first.
After you delete your page, you will then add a new Blog page.
Do that now.
Mr. Dial will now walk you through the steps of typing your first post. We will practice this a few times, and then we will know what to do tomorrow when we start with a real post.
The purpose of your blog will be to post things that you have learned throughout technology class. You will update your blog regularly as you learn from now until Christmas break.
